Ingredients
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
2 tablespoons olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
8 small corn or flour tortillas
1 cup shredded cabbage or slaw mix
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
Instructions
1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season with chili powder, salt, and black pepper.
2. Heat the olive oil and butter together in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add the garlic and cook for about 30 seconds until fragrant, stirring constantly.
4. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
5. Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the shrimp with fresh lime juice.
6. Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until soft and pliable.
7. Assemble the tacos by filling each tortilla with shrimp, shredded cabbage, and cilantro.
8. Serve immediately while the shrimp are hot and juicy.
Notes
Do not overcook the shrimp, as they can become rubbery.
Use fresh garlic for the best flavor.
Add extra lime or hot sauce just before serving if desired.
